Sailing from the Marquesas Islands to the Tuamotus Atolls..

Left Daniel’s Bay in Nuku Hiva this morning for the Tuamotus Atolls, some 500 miles south east of the Marquesas. The weather was a bit squally initially, but it cleared up to blue skies with about 20 knots of breeze. We are sailing with 3 reefs in the main and 60% jib to try to slow the boat down so that we don’t get there too early and have to stand off for long waiting for slack tide into the pass. We are heading for Kauehi Atoll, which has an easy pass and is supposed to be wonderful according to other cruisers. Can’t wait to swim in crystal clear waters! Only 4 days to go!
